Smooth & Manageable Haircare System

Sunsilk Haircare System
Smooth & Manageable
(Shampoo, Conditioner, and Leave-on Conditioner)

Shampoo
Infused with nourishing creamy Yogurt energizers, it gently cleanses and wraps around hair strands, so hair is less fluffy and more manageable.

Conditioner
Enriched with nourishing creamy Yogurt energizers, this extra rich formula nourishes and smoothens fluffy strands from roots to tips without weighing hair down. Hair is smoother and more manageable, so it always fall back into place.

Leave-on
This powerful yet light formula, infused with nourishing creamy Yogurt energizers wraps around each strand and shields it from the environment and humidity, keeping hair in control all day long.

I’ve been trying to find the best shampoo and conditioner to use for as long as I remember. It’s not that my hair has extra special needs. I’m just finicky about it esp since I’ve always worn my hair long. My hair is a mixture of fine and thick strands. I’ve also subjected it to colour treatments and blow-dryers. And now that I’ve cut it short and cropped layers, I thought I really should look doubly hard cuz it somehow magnified the flaws, ending up looking mighty dry and tired.

Sophie had advised that I switch from my imported shampoos to something more local since they specialise in Asian hair. These products are especially formulated to manage (and hopefully fulfill) needs that are known to our hair alone. So, picking up on her cue, I did just that and explored options.

Sunsilk has never had a good track record in terms of haircare in my book. But I had a change of heart ever since I tried their intensive treatment conditioners, Damage Repair and Hair Fall Solution. I’ve loved the results so far. I guess that paved the way for me to give the entire haircare system a go. It also helped that I got two (2) sets for free during the Sunsilk Life Can’t Wait Event that I went to.

Since I already had a taste of the Damage Repair line, I thought it best to try out the Smooth & Manageable Haircare System. They’re the ones in the pink bottles and tubes. I’ve been using them for a couple of weeks now and, boy, am I impressed.

Apart from the yummy scent, it does make my hair feel soft and smooth. During my trip to Vietnam and Cambodia, my hair was exposed to varied weather conditions — from cold (A/C) to moderate to extreme heat, under the sun for periods of time — plus the added dust, humidity, and perspiration factors. Somehow, these things didn’t stress out my hair. My hair didn’t dry up and went all stringy like I expected it to do.

I did, however, have problem with flaking, hence the need to wash my hair everyday. But I attribute that to the fact that I was exposed to a lot of dust and perspiration. The leave-on conditioner may not sit well if exposed that way. Things will tend to stick and build up. But when I was around the city, it wasn’t a problem at all. I also discovered that it is alright to use it everyday. My hair didn’t dry up with the frequent shampooing cuz I don’t normally shampoo my hair everyday for that very reason.

Suggested application: Massage shampoo into wet hair. Rinse thoroughly. Use the conditioner with the shampoo regularly to achieve maximum results. And the leave-on conditioner should be used regularly with both the shampoo and conditioner.

This haircare system also includes an intensive treatment conditioner to be used once a week. It’s unfortunate that I don’t have a pot to try out. Perhaps I’ll grab one on my next trip to the supermarket.
