Tube, Pot or Stick? The Search for the Right Form of Foundation

The Makeup Stick Foundation
Shiseido
A creamy stick foundation that glides on effortlessly providing medium coverage and a long-lasting, lustrous natural finish while offering exceptional skincare benefits. Provides UV ray protection with SPF 15-18. Conceals fine lines and imperfections. Contains Multi-Nutrient Factor, an advanced moisturizer. Recommended for all skin types.
Cream foundations usually come in tubes or sticks. Powder or cake foundations com in pots. I know it’s not whether it comes in either tube, pot or stick. It’s either you’re comfortable in using cream, powder or cake. Or if you’re comfortable using any foundation at all.
I’m such a person. I reckon this is one of the reasons why I’m no beauty junkie. I tend to simplify things. Less fuss, the better. When it comes to beauty products, I tend to be on the conservative side, which explains why I don’t experiment much.
I find foundations a bit of a hassle to apply. It’s an extra layer I put on my face, makes my skin uncomfortably warm and sticky after a few hours. Now, this explains why I’m still on this search for the right foundation for me. I’ve tried Kanebo cake foundation and Maybelline 3-in-1 stick (worst decision ever). But, so far, the only one that I’d like to keep using is the Monave Claire Foundation. It’s mineral makeup. I like the fact that it’s light and very low-maintenance. I don’t feel sticky unless it’s uber-humid.
However, I found this Makeup Stick Foundation by Shiseido and I’m tempted to switch again. I like cream, too. I use a concealer that’s cream. Cream is easy to apply and very dynamic. I find it easy to blend concealers, blushes in cream. My only reservation is that it may turn out to be a repeat of my Maybelline experience. I don’t want that.
What do you guys think? What sort of foundation works best for you? Perhaps you can give me tips on what to look for in a foundation.

Same as you, I hate experimenting. I always go for recommended stuff like MAC studio fix. It’s a 2 way powder foundation in one. It has great coverage. I have been using it for years..

That’s a great recommendation. MAC is always the safest way to go, yeah? :)

I love love love Laura Mercier. And shockingly, I just found a drugstore brand I actually like. It’s called Maybelline Pure Makeup. It’s 5 bucks and it doesn’t break me out! Plus, it had great coverage. It’s my new favorite as of late. I top it off with Mac Invisible Set powder.
