Shu Uemura
Skin Purifier High Performance Cleansing Oil Fresh

High Performance Balancing Cleansing Oil Fresh provides refreshing and radiance-enhancing skin purification that thoroughly cleanses the skin while respecting its integral balance.

As much as putting on makeup is fun, we all have to think about to remove it. We can go all day (and night!) with makeup on, right? And I’m certain you ladies already know its importance so I won’t bother telling you the reasons why you should. Suffice to say, what’s not natural on the skin must not stay on the skin. Full stop. So, yea, I worry about how it affects my skin.

Finding the right sort of makeup remover can be a challenge. Do we go for the alcohol-based astringents? Most almost will unequivocally say no to that one even when it does the job. Some will choose creams, like my mum, cuz it acts like a moisturiser, too. Others are content with the typical facial wash and toner combo. But here is Shu Uemura offering a two-in-one cleanser and makeup remover, the Skin Purifier High Performance Cleansing Oil Fresh.

It promises to remove even waterproof makeup. Cool, yea? It’s suitable for normal to oily, acne-prone skin. Seems like a good bet, yea?

My only concern is how comfortable it’ll feel on application. Personally, I’m not keen on anything oily. I don’t want the sticky feeling it leaves on my skin. Plus, will this accommodate the use of a toner? Will I still need to use one? How will it fare on my skin, which happens to be not acne-prone? Ah, questions.

Right now, I fall under the wash and toner group. So far, it works alright but I do admit that it doesn’t completely remove the makeup. It’s after a couple of washes till I’m satisfied that my skin is indeed clean. Sometimes, it’s just hard to remove the mascara I had put on. Pah. That’s why I’m considering if I should invest in a proper makeup remover.

The Skin Purifier High Performance Cleansing Oil Fresh is priced at $28 over at Sephora.

Anyway, I’ll be willing to give this cleanser-makeup remover from Shu. If I do get around to bringing myself shelling out that much money to buy one, that is (cuz I’m sure it’ll cost an arm and a leg here in Manila). Heh. But, yea, I’ll make sure to do a review. But for now, anyone of you, beauties, have given the product a go? Do let us know if you love it or hate it. We’d love to hear some feedback.

Also, what sort of cleanser/makeup remover do you prefer? Astringents? Cream-based? Perhaps you can share with us what cleanser/makeup remover you’re using right now. We’d appreciate it!
