ENERGYWATER
(Skin Lotion)

Refresh yourself with just a quick spray anytime, anywhere.
The lotion replenishes your face as well as your body and hair with dewy moisture.
The power of the minerals prevents the skin from drying and heightens the ability to retain moisture.

Za is a brand — a collaboration between SHISEIDO (Tokyo) and ZOTOS (New York) — that became popular here in Manila during early 2000. I remember sales people visiting our office with boxful of Za products. They’re not black market sellers, mind you. They were authorised distributors and resellers. I reckon the brand had tested the Philippine market but failed to get a profitable following. However, I did buy a cheek blush and this Energy Water at that time. So, quick answer to a probable question: no, I’m not planning to use this anymore. I cringe at the thought. But I did love using it before esp since I commute and had started using makeup a lot due to the fact that I was fresh into my modeling career.

Anyway, I’m merely talking to you ladies about the brand since I found this spritzer when we were sorting through a bunch of old stuff a few days ago plus I realised that the brand isn’t quite as popular as it was before. I’m also reminded of the magazine ads and TVCs but now, not a peep from them. What exactly happened to Za here in Manila?

As far as I can recall, Za, the brand established for all women who seek new value and lifestyle, were able to capture the young market, teens to yuppies, here in Manila. The logo and the blue & yellow colours were pretty distinct and easily recognisable. You’ll never fail to recognise it if or when you come across it on the streets.

Suggested Application: Use after cleansing your face or over your makeup. Spray three times from about 20 cm away from your face, and pat lightly. Apply as many times a day as you want, anytime you are concerned about dryness or when you just want to refresh yourself. (Source: za-ny.com)

At the end of my research (believe me, I had to dig a bit deep to locate the website alone, pah), I made sure to ask and find an answer to a very important question: “Where can I buy Za products?”

Unfortunately, it’s not available online. Furthermore, it’s only available in retail stores in eight (8) territories, which are mostly located in Asia save one: Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, and Hawaii (US).

Thanks for sharing that bit of trivia. About the brand’s country of origin, I reckon it’s easy to make a similar mistake esp since their early image models were Chinese (depends on the country they’re promoting it, eh?) You’d only find out for sure when you look at the product label closely or read up on the brand’s profile. ;)
